Dear friends and lovers of the arts,
Since its founding, the city of Boston has truly been one of the brightest stars in our country’s artistic firmament, and it has consistently held this position because of the breadth and diversity of what it offers to visitors and Massachusetts residents alike.
Wonderful things happen each day and every day in Massachusetts and in the Boston area, and the Guide for the Arts is our best passport to this magical world.
Let it be your guide . . . use it . . . rejoice in it !
Sincerely,

Past Boston Ambassador to the Arts Joyce Kulhawik
Dear Friends,
I have always known that I have the best job in Boston! Every day on TV, in the middle of all the bad news, I have the privilege of delivering the good news. I get to show audiences the best in us. Through theatre, music, dance, the visual arts, we are inspired to understand and express ourselves deeply. The arts also nurture our compassion and humanity.
And so it is my pleasure to introduce The Guide for the Arts, which organizes the extraordinary range of cultural activities that make Boston unique. I hope this beautiful and concise calendar will help make the cultural landscape easier to navigate as you make your way through what promises to be a very exciting season for the arts!!
Sincerely,

Joyce Kulhawik
